Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

“Gazeta Wyborcza”: Custom made diploma

Polish universities create thesis databases and hope that entrepreneurs use them. For students, it is an opportunity to get an internship or even a job. For companies – to get free research. How does it work in practice?

Entrepreneurs gain first and foremost the opportunity to conduct research for free, which they would otherwise have to outsource. – One does not have to worry about the quality of such research. Entrepreneurs do not lose anything and the theses are not concerned with solving a specific problem but rather on the perspectives of future development anyway – reassures Monika Zaręba, expert of Employers of Poland.

 – In Poland, the cooperation between business and science has only just started – she remarks. – We do not have much tradition when it comes to that. Both parties are still learning how to cooperate - and one of the forms of such cooperation is “ordering theses” – she adds.

Attitudes have to change and luckily they are already slowly changing. Each year less students enter universities which stimulates competition, particularly through offering more than just lectures. The ordered theses and cooperation with employers may be among the decisive arguments – concludes Monika Zaręba.
