“Rzeczpospolita”: Trade unions go into battle

– My prognoses from early on in the chaos surrounding the mining industry are now reality. Forcing the government to negotiate everything is a confirmation of Piotr Duda’s political ambition to cause a general strike in an election year. Having signed the government agreement with the miners, though I agree that it does not solve any problems, Duda is now looking for a new excuse. I suspect that such a situation will last until the elections – no problems will be solved at the central level, but further demands will be voiced with regards to more and more industry sectors. I will not advise the government on how to reply to the union’s appeals. The government always knows best and does not ask employers for their opinion, as was the case with restructuring Kompania Węglowa – assesses Andrzej Malinowski, President of Employers of Poland.
