– The Portuguese case may set a precedent which will have an impact on Polish regulations – worries Grzegorz Byszewski, expert of Employers of Poland.
The tobacco industry points out that Polish regulations are not identical with those in force in Portugal. Not only because the period subject to regulation in Poland is 2 and not 3 months. In our country, tobacco products with old excise stamps can be sold after that as well, though distributors have to update legalization marks.
Employers of Poland fear that such a form of legalizing tobacco products may not prevent a possible legal action against Poland. One of the causes is the high cost of legalization marks – 1.3 PLN per piece.
