In the first half of 2015 employers owed their employees 69.2 million zlotys – according to data from the Polish Labour Inspectorate (PIP). The amount of shocking, but still about one quarter lower than in the same period of the previous year.
This improvement is not surprising to expert Łukasz Kozlowski – expert of Employers of Poland. – Smaller arrears result from several factors. The economic situation in the country improved and companies do not have such big problems with liquidity. As a result, it is easier for them to meet their obligations to employees. In previous years there was the opposite tendency – economic slowdown created problems related to payment backlogs, which in turn translated into an increase in arrears – says the expert.
