In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

"Rzeczpospolita”: Super-office with a procedural loophole


The biggest taxpayers will be dealt with not only by Warsaw tax offices, but by local officials as well.


Robert Oliwa, tax adviser, Chairman of the Tax Office of Employers of Poland: The concept of creating an office to deal with the biggest taxpayers has met with objections right from the start, as many such taxpayers have their offices far away from the capital. Sadly, the legislators focused on the idea of centralization itself and neglected procedural issues. The regulation in article 156 $1 may make it impossible to effectively summon taxpayers from outside of the Mazovian voivodeship, as they are only obliged to appear in person within the limits of the voivodeship where they live and operate.
