Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

“Rzeczpospolita”: Trade unions leaving scorched earth in their wake

– How does one call a group which is convinced it can achieve its objectives by blackmailing the government and society? That it can use threats such as “we know where you live”, leave the negotiating table prepared for dialog, refusing to take economic realities into account and sees every compromise as a weakness and a cue to escalate demands without end? – asks President of Employers of Poland Andrzej Malinowski in an article for “Reczpospolita”.

– This is how blackmailers work – the union led by Piotr Duda is rooted in a very different and noble tradition, a tradition of achieving goals by thinking of the common good – he states. According to him, adopting a strategy of blackmail and unconditional demands means that Duda is distancing himself from that tradition.

In Malinowski’s opinion, the fact that neither ca. 3 bln PLN in public support, nor an almost complete suspension of the restructuring in the mining industry satisfied the miners proves that trade unions are not willing to compromise.

– What do the union leaders care if their egoism makes any social dialog in Poland impossible? Do they care that unionists are destroying their companies, that the increase in pension age to 67 which they considered unconstitutional was not only in accordance with the constitution, but also absolutely necessary? – writes the President of Employers of Poland.

– When you bid with no moderation, you are left with nothing. This principle is well known in poker, but many of those who resort to blackmail have also felt its consequences – warns Andrzej Malinowski.
