The functioning of the tax authorities is very expensive, as for years no changes have been made to improve their effectiveness.
– We have a problem with the quality of human resources management in the tax authorities – comments Łukasz Kozłowski, economic expert of Employers of Poland. As many as 25.8 percent of employees do not work directly in tax collection, but have other, supporting duties. In Germany the corresponding figure is only 0.9 percent and 13 percent in tiny Slovenia. – Polish tax collection institutions are not too big, as in terms of the relation between the number of their employees and the country’s population we do not look too bad. However, the work done by these employees is not used properly – adds Kozłowski.
