“Gazeta Wyborcza”: Dialog in favor of the unions

Will union representatives dominate the works of the Social Dialog Council? After the nominations in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy their position is very strong. However, entrepreneurs are still optimistic.

– I assume that people with connections to „Solidarność” who are now in the government will now be carrying out the policy of the government rather than the unions – says Andrzej Malinowski, President of Employers of Poland. – Of course I know the union rhetoric: first they will yell, but after a while a conversation will start. Unions now that they cannot achieve anything without agreements. The government, in turn, knows that they cannot adopt a policy which would derail Polish economy.
