In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

“Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”: Revolution in controlling employers


Fines dependent on company size and inspectors’ visits based on ID only – such are the propositions of the National Labour Inspection aimed at improving the efficiency of supervision.


Notably, fines would be given in an administrative procedure rather than in a contravention case, as is the current practice. This change will surely be supported by trade unions.


– A company with 5 employees may have much higher revenue than a company with 100 employees – explains Monika Gładoch, attorney at law and expert of Employers of Poland. She emphasizes that differentiating the sanctions may be questioned on constitutional grounds. – It is hard to justify making someone pay more just because they have more employees. Introducing such regulations may lead to unequal treatment of entities – she adds.
