726.9 mln euro – such a sum of money got from Polish users to foreign service providers in online gambling in the last 11 months, according to an analysis prepared by Skrill.
– Polish budget loses massive sums of money. If a 12 percent tax was paid, the treasury would experience a sizeable influx of funds – remarks Mariusz Korzeb, expert of Employers of Poland. He adds that since the coming into force of the deficient amendment to the gambling act, this money has not ended up in the budget. Meanwhile, tools for putting an end to this are already in place: eg. blocking the websites of bookmakers who have no license to provide services in Poland. – No effort has been made to restrict the grey market in bookmaking – Korzeb adds.
