I am writing these words in the heat of the moment – literally, from sunny Miami in Florida. However, do not think that the heat comes from the weather alone. The atmosphere is heated due to the 37. Hemispherical Camacol Congress and Poland’s presence there. And what a presence it is! – writes President of Employers of Poland Andrzej Malinowski in “Rzeczpospolita”.
– Camacol is an association of trade chambers from North, South and Central American Countries, as well as Spain, China, Turkey and Poland, founded in 1965. A true tycoon club, one of the most influential business circles in the US and Latin America, associating over a million companies from all sectors of the economy – he explains.
President of Employers of Poland emphasizes his surprise at his interlocutors’ extensive knowledge about Poland. – Their questions were strikingly specific and for the most part concerned with the way foreign capital invested in Poland will be treated. Not only personalities such as Francisco J. Sanchez, former Deputy Trade Secretary – now the CEO of a large advisory company and a very interesting partner for conversation – but also others, including chairmen of trade chambers from a number of South American countries, were impressively well-versed in Polish issues – Malinowski remarks.
In the face of this, he decided to change the topic of his lecture at the last minute and present Minister Morawiecki’s responsible growth plan – the road map for Polish economy for the next couple of years, but seen from the perspective of entrepreneurs and the role they may lay in stimulating growth.
– What could be more evocative for American businessmen than the opinion of their Polish counterparts? If they know that we have long suffered the inconveniences of bureaucracy and excessive production of low-quality legislation, then showing our assessment of the proposed solutions to the aforementioned problems is surely the most appropriate approach. If they want to build their companies in Poland, then we should show them the quality of our cadre for research centres and creative departments. Thus, the legendary Biltmore hotel, which once hosted both royalty and celebrities, such as Judy Garland and Bing Cosby heard words about how Polish entrepreneurs want to take advantage of the opportunities provided by minister Morawiecki’s plan – he says.
– However, the most important thing is that the questions and discussions provoked by my lecture, clearly show South America’s lively interest in Poland. Evidently, there are many opportunities for cooperation. South America asks about Poland. Let us prepare a good response – concludes the President of Employers of Poland.
