Polish millionaires are largely entrepreneurs – Łukasz Kozłowski in “Rzeczpospolita”

The number of PIT payers whose income exceeded 1 mln PLN – show estimations made by “Rzeczpospolita” based on data from over half tax chambers.

According to “Rz”, nearly 80 percent with income of over 1 mln PLN, paid their tax using the PIT-36L form, applicable to those who conduct economic activity and pay 19 percent linear tax. This is the way a large number of top managers and specialists, including those who work in the so-called free professions. These include lawyers, architects, doctors, consultants, artists, sportsmen and company owners.

Łukasz Kozłowski, expert of Employers of Poland, is convinced that Polish millionaires are largely entrepreneurs. Most of them, even when they are members of supervisory boards, have their own economic activity, because it is beneficial in terms of taxation. According to Kozłowski, PIT statistics are another proof that income from economic activity is much higher than from work for hire.

Expert of Employers of Poland reminds that such a correlation between wealth and economic activity was indicated by last year’s NBP reports on household assets, were entrepreneurs made up the majority of households with assets worth more than 1 mln PLN (excluding real estate).
