Enough of treating healthcare solely as a cost for the budget. Citizens’ health is a factor with a positive impact on economic growth and welfare – the President of Employers of Poland writes in “Rzeczpospolita”.
– We need a substantive discussion on reforming the healthcare system – a discussion that will engage all interested parties and not just some of them. The last quarter of a century has shown that this is not an easy topic. Different solutions were tested, but healthcare has never really become a real economic and political priority – he assesses.
– This is a great mistake, one we have to fix by giving citizens’ health proper importance. With this in mind, we are organizing the I Healthcare Congress of Employers of Poland under the motto “Healthy citizens, healthy Poland” – he adds.
– The motto is not empty rhetoric. Long-term investment in citizens’ health is in the state’s best interests. It is a value in and of itself not only in ethical terms, but economically as well. Health translates to a modern, competitive and developing economy, to our country’s production capacities and to the restriction of costs borne by Polish companies – both economic and personal – emphasizes the President of Employers of Poland.
