In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

Drastically increasing ZUS contributions would hit those who pay a 19-percent linear PIT the hardest.

 

In October, the government is expected to present the initial guidelines for a draft of the so-called tax-contribution. We may also learn what the ZUS rate for physical persons conducting economic activity will be. Thus far, the government does not rule out that micro and small companies will be subject to the unified tax.

 

– ZUS contributions like the ones currently in place for employees would be too much of a burden for companies – stresses Łukasz Kozłowski of Employers of Poland. – In some western countries, ZUS contributions proportional to income are indeed in place, but the maximum rate is 7-9 percent – he emphasizes.
