“Gazeta Wyborcza”: Where will you make the most?

Experts argue that this year our wallets will feel an improvement on the labour market. “Gazeta Wyborcza” checked which sectors can offer the best wages.

– Poles’ real purchasing power increased by 4 percent – says Łukasz Kozłowski of Employers of Poland. According to him, a similar real increase awaits us this year. – Inflation will be low, in the first half of the year we may again be faced with deflation, employees’ wage pressure may also increase – he thinks.

According to Kozłowski, an analysis of data on unemployment  justifies the assumption that companies will be forced to be a Little more generous. Eurostat figures – which does not consider people registered as unemployed, but working illegally, as unemployed  – show that unemployment in Poland is at a level of 8 percent (according to GUS, registered unemployment in December was at a level of 11.5 percent. – The situation has not been that good since 2007, when companies found it really hard to find qualified employees which made them more willing to raise wages. A similar situation may occur this year – comments the expert.
