– Total energy consumption in the EU was the lowest in 20 years – it fell to the level of early 90’s. In In 2013 in Poland, it was 98.2 mln tons of oil equivalent compared to 103.3 mln tons in 1990. This means that Polish economy significantly reduced its energy consumption and energy consumption per generated GDP unit decreased by half. This trend will continue in the coming years. Increased demand for energy – resulting from economic growth – will be compensated by increased energy efficiency, a consequence of technological progress – assesses Jacek Brzozowski, adviser to the President of Employers of Poland.
