Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

“Fakt”: I lost my company because of the tax authorities. It is time to change the law!

Stanisław Kujawa of Zamość came to the Tax Office unprompted, as his employees was engaged in VAT fraud. The Tax Office destroyed his company – informs “Fakt”.

Stanisław Kujawa’s company sold household appliances. When he discovered that his trade director was guilty of VAT fraud, he wanted to file a correction of his tax declaration for 1.5 mln PLN. For 4 years, the Tax Office has constantly controlled his company.

– I had to let all of 184 employees go. Annual income dropped from 330 mln PLN to zero – he complains. Kujawa has become one of the initiators of Employers of Poland campaign aimed at convincing the Sejm to pass the amendment to the Tax Ordinance. The presidential draft is now stuck in Sejm and involves the principle of always resolving ambiguities in the interpretation of tax regulations in favour of taxpayers, rather than the tax authorities.
