LMC

Legislation Monitoring Centre

In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

We are aware that the position of our country in the European Union is determined by, to a great extent, the state of Polish economy. The main aim of the Employers of Poland cooperation with foreign partners and its activity on the European scene must consist of activities which increase our competitiveness on international markets. We have a real influence on law in Brussels by:

  • expressing opinions on union's directives,
  • meeting eurodeputies and representatives of the European Commission,
  • participating in works of advisory and consultancy bodies of EU, such as:
  • European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), European Social Fund Advisory Committee, and BIAC, the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD.

We actively participate in works of IOE, International Organisation of Employers, in September 2004 we were the host of this most prestigious organisation's Session for employers from all over the world. Moreover, representatives of our Confederation participate in works of the European Committee on Migrant Workers, European Social Fund Advisory Committee, European Agency for Safety and Health at Work. We actively participate in works of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions. We also develop bilateral contacts, together with the Party of Industrials and Entrepreneurs of Ukraine, we have appointed a Coalition of Polish and Ukrainian Employers for EURO 2012
