Competent Participant of Social Dialogue is a project carried out between October 1, 2008 and October 31, 2009 by the Confederation of Polish Employers (former name of the Employers of Poland) together with the Trade Union Federation of Municipal and Local Economy Employees in Poland and the Polish Alliance of Trade Unions (OPZZ). The project was co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund within the Operational Programme Human Capital (5th Priority, 5.5.2 Measure).
The Confederation of Polish Employers from its beginnings has been searching for a harmony between employers and employees, holding a belief that there are no more valuable assets to the company than people who create it. We are aware of how important for satisfying development of a company is social dialogue and active participation of employees in the company's functioning. However, social dialogue has not yet well enough developed in Poland. To a very large extent, it results from a lack of knowledge about the kernel of social dialogue, low negotiation skills, and sometimes - unfortunately - the ignorance of basics on the part of some participants. Facing this challenge, the Confederation of Polish Employers engaged in the project A Competent Participant of Social Dialogue (KUDS), which enables the participants of social dialogue to acquire the necessary competences.
Seminars and conferences on the functioning of social dialogue were organized within the project. Additionally, a handbook for participants of social dialogue was issued. It was a kind of compendium of knowledge on social dialogue, describing relations between the social, civic and autonomous dialogue and presenting financial sources within the European Funds for projects carried out by the social partners' organizations.
