Role of the European and National Social Dialogue in Restructuring of the Polish Healthcare System is a project conducted by the Employers of Poland and the European Hospital and Healthcare Employers' Association (HOSPEEM) thanks to the grant from the European Commission. It was commenced on December 1, 2007 and accomplished on July 31, 2008. The major objective of the project was to strengthen social dialogue in relations between the private and public sector of healthcare services in Poland and other new EU member states as well as preparing the ground for applying this formula in countries aspiring to EU memberships. The project was also aimed at promoting hitherto results of social dialogue.
A two-day seminar was organized within the project, under honorary patronage of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy as well as the Ministry of Health. The following officials took part in the seminar: Minister of Labour and Social Policy Jolanta Fedak, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Health Adam Fronczak, President of the Confederation of Polish Employers Andrzej Malinowski, Vice President of the Employers of Poland and President of the Healthy Health Corporation Andrzej Mądrala, Secretary General of HOSPEEM Godfrey Perera, and Chair of Health and Social Services Committee of the European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU) Karen Jennings.
During the seminar, the participants discussed the essence, purpose, and meaning of the social dialogue within the EU, particularly in the healthcare sector. Topics, such us the role of private companies in supporting and developing healthcare sector in Europe and a part of social dialogue and social partners in this process, were touched upon.
