On Thursday January 14th, Minister of Treasury Dawid Jackiewicz met Employers of Poland. The meeting on Brukselska street was also attended by Viceministers Henryk Baranowski and Filip Grzegorczyk.
Attendees were greeted by President of Employers of Poland Andrzej Malinowski, who emphasized that the Organization’s cooperation with the Ministry of Treasury will be key, as it is the ministry supervising the largest mining and energy companies. – We have no political interests whatsoever – he stressed. – However, we do have serious economic interests – underlined Malinowski.
– I would like to treat this meeting as an opportunity to dispel any doubts with regards to the supervision of the Ministry of Treasury over companies – said Dawid Jackiewicz. He also outlined the framework of his ministry’s plans for the coming months, when, as he said, “the ministry will cease to exist”. – On the occasion of the liquidation, we would like to introduce qualitative changes in managing public assets. We will create mechanisms improving the efficiency of management – he said. The thorough reform is elaborated by an advisory body established by the minister. – In this quarter we will conclude conceptual work and present a new management model – he declared.
The discussion was long and, as emphasized by President Malinowski, very interesting. Discussion focused on the application of the public procurement law, the new wage model for managers of companies co-owned by the Treasury, as well as the rules of selection for board and supervisory board members.
– I would like to ask you to treat us allies with regards to economic issues – added the President of Employers of Poland> Minister Jackiewicz, for his part, invited the representatives of the Organization to dialog. – Our ideas have to be confronted with your knowledge – he concluded.
