On November 14–17, 2016 the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is organizing an international exhibition ITU Telecom World 2016. The fair serves as an international platform for the exchange of knowledge, ideas and experience and is aimed at representatives of national governments, industry and small and medium-sized companies, whose common concern is to accelerate innovation of ICT for social and economic development.
Last year's exhibition in Budapest was visited by 4000 participants from 186 states, including: Secretary-General of the ITU, presidents of the Member States of the ITU, heads of governments, ministers, ambassadors, presidents of telecommunication regulators and presidents of the largest telecommunications companies in the world. The fair is also attended by private companies, which present the latest products and services from the telecommunications’ and new technologies’ sector.
The theme of this year's fair will be the digital economy and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. The fair will consist of panel discussions, conferences, workshops and exhibitions. Their aim is to facilitate the exchange of experiences, ideas and knowledge, and to create an opportunity to establish international contacts in the field of ICT, also during bilateral meetings.
