Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.



Sejm passes changes aimed at combatting the so-called “first daily wage syndrome”


Sejm has passed an amendment to the Labour Code aimed at eliminating the so-called “first daily wage syndrome”. Employers of Poland support all initiatives intended to restrict the grey market. Therefore, our assessment of the draft elaborated by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. Notably, the social partners have managed to agree on a common position on this issue.


Even though the suggested solution will surely not eliminate the phenomenon of illegal labour, it is undoubtedly a step in the right direction. Combatting illegal labour calls not only for changes in formal requirements regarding employment, but first and foremost for lessening the legal and financial burdens borne by employers.
