Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

The Employers of Poland come up with an idea on the reduction of sickness absence occurrence

During the winter season, the problem of sick leaves intensifies in many companies. On the one hand it is a natural phenomenon, but on the other hand it often comes to the abuse.

It is necessary to have some balanced and thoughtful suggestions so as to reduce the number of sick leaves. Therefore, we propose to reduce the period of salary payment by the employer for the period of the disease from 33 to 14 days says Wioletta Zukowska, an expert of the Employers of Poland.

According to the data provided by the Work Service, it appears that in 2011 the sickness absenteeism cost both Polish companies and the Social Security Office (ZUS) over PLN 18 billion. These costs are predominantly covered by employers.

It is estimated that only less than 2 % of all the sick leaves exceed 33 days for which ZUS pays salary.
