Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.



Employers of Poland and entrepreneurs urge caution in changing the law


The amendments to the Penal Code prepared by the Ministry of Justice cause concern among entrepreneurs. As members of the Polish Entrepreneurship Council, Employers of Poland, have signed the Council’s position on the introduction of the possibility of confiscating company assets and ownership titles involved in unlawful activities.


Undoubtedly, the guilty have to be punished. However, the idea of confiscating assets which are not the property of the perpetrator does not ensure the realization of this principle in any shape or manner. Sometimes, owners are unaware that company assets are used to commit crimes. The stat should protect entrepreneurs against the negative consequences of the actions of people who have involved the entity in question in criminal activities. Another cause for concern is the fact that some terms used in the amendment are unclear – eg. assets would be confiscated when the owner “does not apply appropriate caution” – says President of Employers of Poland Andrzej Malinowski.
