The Employers of Poland critically evaluated the highly controversial proposals on employment standards for nurses and midwives. The consensus conference with the Ministry of Health may be a chance for a compromise.
The implementation of the regulation could cost a statistical county hospital about PLN 1.2 million, which means an increase of costs by about 10 %. In individual cases this would mean the need for employment of 2-3 times more nurses and midwives than today.
– The Ministry of Health has decided to do extensive research on the example of a large number of representative medical bodies - research institutes, research hospitals, provincial, district and psychiatric hospitals as well as healthcare centres, and hospices - so as to check the actual cost and scale of the implementation of the new requirements – says Andrzej Madrala, the Vice- President of the Employers of Poland.
