On October 5th, a meeting of adviser to the President of Employers of Poland Sławomir Majman and the Minister for Special Matters of Sri Lanka Dr. Sarathem Amunugama.
Turnover in Polish trade with Sri Lanka in the first quarter of 2016 was almost 58 mln USD. Expert from Poland was 11.3 bln USD and import – 46.5 mln, resulting in a sustained trade deficit: currently 35.3 mln USD. There are many opportunities for developing economic cooperation between Poland and Sri Lanka, a country many Polish entrepreneurs see as exotic. Given the low intensity of business contacts, mutual investments are not registered in economic reports. Mr Majman and Mr Amunugama both emphasized the need to work together on raising awareness of the opportunities provided by economic cooperation between the two countries.
