Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

Investments – an opportunity for development

During a press briefing at the Bydgoszcz City Office, President of the Employers of Poland dr Andrzej Malinowski announced that together with Chairman of the Board of Directors at Kulczyk Investments, dr Jan Kulczyk, they will cooperate in developing business contacts at the Brda river and in the Kuyavia – Pomerania region. On May 20th – 21st in Bydgoszcz, an Economic Round Table:  Investments – from local to global economy, will take place.

During last year’s celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the Kuyavian – Pomeranian Association of Employers and Entrepreneurs, we have asked ourselves what we could do together to help Bydgoszcz. We came to the conclusion that we could offer our business contacts. This is how the idea of an Economic Round Table came about. The Round Table is intended for business promotion of not only Bydgoszcz, but the entire Kuyavia – Pomerania region as well. I expect that first business contacts will be made during the Round Table – said Andrzej Malinowski at a meeting with the media.

The President of the Employers of Poland stressed that representatives of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Regional Development have announced their presence at the conference. Talks with investors are currently underway. The Marshall of the Kuyavian – Pomeranian Voivodeship, Piotr Cebecki, and the President of the City of Bydgoszcz, Rafał Bruski – who was represented at the meeting by Vice-President Grzegorz Dołkowski – voiced their support for the initiative.

Dominika Kulczyk-Lubomirska, founder and Deputy Chairman of Green Cross Poland, also present at the conference, pointed out that her father’s involvement in this project was a form of paying off a debt to his city of birth, where he grew up and where he was formed in the first years of his life. She drew particular attention to the importance of corporate social responsibility in projects such as this. – Business is responsible when it is understood that business does not develop only at a global scale, but in cities as well. This has an impact on the strength of the entire Polish economy – said Dominika Kulczyk-Lubomirska.

At the meeting, a survey prepared by the Employers of Poland – in cooperation with the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency – was presented. It will give entrepreneurs from the voivodeship an opportunity to present their initiatives and investment ideas. This document is available at the website of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Association of Employers and Entrepreneurs: www.kpzpip.pl. It can be sent to the e-mail address specified at that website.

Completed surveys will be thoroughly analyzed. Results will be available to potential partners – investors and embassy representatives. Conclusions from the surveys will also be the subject of analyses during the Economic Round Table.

The partner of this initiative is the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Association of Employers and Entrepreneurs – a member of the Employers of Poland, a professional business support institution, capable of promoting entrepreneurship and public engagement, concentrating its efforts on social dialogue, innovativeness and integrating entrepreneurs from the region.
