According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the unemployment rate in March was 14.3 % and, in comparison with February, fell by 0.1 percentage points. – The fall in unemployment obviously instils optimism, but one cannot absolutely speak out on “a thaw" in the labour market – say the experts of the Employers of Poland.
The downward trend will continue to the autumn; however the low GDP growth rate may lead to a 15% increase in the unemployment rate at the end of the year. – At the moment, we do not see any chance of dramatically reducing the number of the unemployed. The GDP growth needs to be at least 4% to make it happen – stress the experts of the organization. They calm at the same time that the situation on the labour market will be fairly stable and we are not threatened with a rapid decline in the number of jobs.
