Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

Without innovation we will, at best, face stagnation

Poland is ranked fourth ... from the end in terms of innovation by the EU's Innovation Union Scoreboard ranking. However, the Global Innovation Index - prepared by the World Intellectual Property Organization, Cornell University and INSEAD - ranks us the last but one in the EU (only ahead of Greece).

- Innovation plays an important role in the modernization of Polish economy and the labour market - says Piotr Wołejko, an expert of the Employers of Poland. – Today, it is wages, still lower than in Western Europe, and qualified staff that mainly make the competitive advantage of our firms. Rarely, however, do we offer high-tech innovative solutions – Wołejko adds.

Poland allots only 0.77 % of GDP to research and development - three times less than the leaders of innovation only a third of which is put up by the private sector. – It is necessary to increase the share of business in expenditure on innovation. We should create our own solutions rather than buy foreign technology - says Wołejko. He adds: - It is essential to develop mechanisms for cooperation between business and science, encourage colleges to be receptive to business and the market, as well as greater commercialization of research.
