On 21 September 2010 President Andrzej Malinowski and two vice-presidents - Mr. Tadeusz Dorda and Mr. Janusz Pietkiewicz met with Mr. David Y.K. Wong, President of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, a member of the board - Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Ms. Lore Büscher, Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe HKTDC and Mr. Maciej Wolf, Director of the Warsaw branch of the HKTDC.
The meeting was organized to strengthen cooperation between Employers of Poland and Hong Kong Trade Development Council and introduce the new Director of the Warsaw branch of the HKTDC Mr. Maciej Wilk.
During the meeting President Andrzej Malinowski said that thanks to its international heritage Hong Kong is the door to the Chinese market for both importers and exporters. Nevertheless, due to the cultural differences and distance, to start such cooperation with China seems extremely difficult. Therefore, we appreciate the initiative of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), which prepared and distributes the guide "How to start a business with Hong Kong and China."
President Andrzej Malinowski pointed that China-Poland Business Summit planned next year during the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union would give the businesses from Poland the opportunity to visit Hong Kong as well. The guest expressed its support for the initiative to organize economical mission and visit both mainland China and Hong Kong.
Mr. David Y.K. Wong appreciated the development efforts of Poland and praised the fastest growing economy in Europe for its investment portfolio. He stressed that there are a lot of companies in Hong Kong which wish to enter the European markets. Poland is a natural partner for them, and may well serve as a gateway to both Western and Eastern markets.
