The increase in the current account deficit from Euro 165 million in May to Euro 574 million in June, which means an increase of Euro 409 million, is a considerable surprise.
- We have taken note of such a surplus, for the first time in the twenty-first century, for three months in a row – points out an expert of the Employers of Poland, Łukasz Kozłowski. He does not believe, however, in a possibility to maintain a positive balance in the current account for the next few months. – Stronger and stronger economic recovery will make the dynamics of imports outweigh the increase in exports - says Kozłowski. - On the other hand, it seems that the recent data was not an accidental result of extraordinary events, but it bears evidence of an increasingly strong export-friendly orientation of our economy.
