The education system needs to work with business

According to the forecasts made by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, in the years 2023-2025 the number of students at Polish universities will drop to around 1.25 million towards the 1.67 million students in the academic year 2012/2013.

In addition to demographics, there is still the problem of maladjustment of offers and the quality of education to the real needs of the labour market. – The lack of appropriate curriculum in conjunction with period of population decline will lead to the liquidation of a large part of colleges and universities – predicts an expert of the Employers of Poland, Monika Zaręba. In her opinion, it is essential for universities to cooperate with business community so that the academic offer can take into account the economic realities and requirements of companies more.
