Employers of Poland on the project of amendments to the financial market supervision act

19-11-2013

According to experts of the Employers of Poland, even though the suggested direction of changes is appropriate, many details in the suggested amendment to the financial market supervision act are a cause for concern.

Establishing a maximum interest for a delay in payment and the interest on interest at a low level is a dangerous concept., After such a limit is achieved the loan provider would be completely stripped of means to motivate borrowers to regulate their liabilities.  Moreover, the maximum cost of a consumer credit suggested by the Ministry of Finance – 30% - is arbitrary and  does not take  into account the specific characteristics  of various financial products available on the market.
