According to Employers’ of Poland expert Łukasz Kozłowski, the value of the November PMI index for Polish industry - 54.4 pt - is a big surprise. An increase by 0.2 pt was expected. Meanwhile, the index increased by as much as 1 pt.
Kozłowski claims that such a significant increase could suggest that the current economic upturn is similar to the revival Polish economy experienced in 2009-2010, when the annual GDP growth reached ca. 4% relatively quickly. However, he also stresses that the importance of these figures should not be overestimated, as the unsatisfactory competitiveness of Polish economy means that we may not see another economic upturn of such strength in the foreseeable future.
