In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.



Poland should fight for a lower VAT rate on e-books


According to the Employers of Poland, the Polish government - as promised by the former Minister of Administration and Digitization, Michał Boni - should take decisive action leading to the harmonization of the digital market in the EU, including the possibility of applying the reduced VAT rates for e-books.


An expert of the Employers of Poland, Mariusz Korzeb, points out that the current situation leads to the use of two different rates of VAT (basic and reduced) compared to the same products that differ only in the form of edition. – The uneven VAT rate for paper books and e-books can have a significant impact on the development of the industry – concludes Mariusz Korzeb.
