Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.



The Vector Awards 2013 given!


On Saturday, January 11th, at the National Stadium in Warsaw, took place the Vectors 2013 ceremony – the prestigious awards of the Employers of Poland. A group of eminent figures - businessmen, politicians, journalists, and institutions whose business can be a model for others – were honoured with the award that was awarded for the twelfth time since the first edition.


The Vector Awards are given for the activity that particularly benefits the Polish economy and for the creation of a climate conducive to the development of entrepreneurship.The ceremony was attended by over four hundred people.


The winners of the Vector Awards 12th edition were (in alphabetical order):



  • Tomasz Czechowicz, CEO, MCI Management S.A. (PLC)

For achieving the position of venture capital market leader. For the bold, accurate choices concerning investment in the next companies and for the systematic creation of their value.


  • Waldemar Dąbrowski, CEO, the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera

For the author's vision of the development of the Teatr Wielki and the high prestige of the National Stage. For building up a harmonious relationship between the arts and business.


  • Dariusz Krawczyk, CEO, Ciech S.A. (PLC)

For the effective restructuring of Ciech Chemical Group, the result of which is much better financial performance and the economic position of the Group’s companies.


  • Krzysztof Opawski (posthumously the award received the widow, Joanna Opawska)

For outstanding contribution to the privatization and development of the Polish economy.


  • Ewa Paga, President of the Lesław A. Paga Foundation 2065

For passion and consistency in educational activities, supporting the talented students and graduates. For the creation of a group of experts sharing their experience with young people.


  •  Leszek Pawłowicz, Director, Gdańska Akademia Bankowa (the Gdańsk Academy of Banking)

For building a modern banking system and a capital market in Poland.

For the creation of the European Financial Congress.


  • Zbigniew Rekusz, Senior Partner, Fund Mid Europa Partners

For hammering out a new formula for public-private partnership and carrying out a successful privatization of the Polish Cable Railways.


  • Anna Rulkiewicz, CEO, LUX MED Sp. z o.o. (LLC)

For creative and effective continuation of the vision of the company's development and achieving the position of Poland's biggest private health care provider.


  • Marek Tymiński, CEO, CI Games S.A. (PLC)

For the vision and determination to grow his business. For proving that Polish computer game may be synonymous with spectacular global success.


  • Józef Wancer, CEO, Bank BGŻ S.A. (PLC)

For outstanding achievements in the field of banking in the period of transformation.

For an unquestionable contribution to the creation of the Polish banking system


  • Ph. D, professor Krzysztof Warzocha, Director, the Centre of Oncology - the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Institute

For the effective restructuring of public medical facilities. For the restoration of hope for taking rapid treatment for the cancer patients


  • Mirosław Włodarczyk, CEO, Vedia S.A. (PLC)

For visionary imagination and hard work that resulted in the only Polish electronics factory in China coming into existence. For proving that Polish David can effectively compete with global Goliaths. For overcoming bureaucratic machinery and turning around the company damaged by that bureaucracy.


The statuette for Mirosław Włodarczyk was awarded along with the “The Puls of Business”. The winner was selected by popular vote of the newspaper’s readers as the Entrepreneur of the Year 2013. The award was presented by Patricia Deyna, the President of Bonnier Business Poland.


During the ceremony the Super Vector Award 2013 was also given. This is a special prize awarded for outstanding achievements, the consequences of which extend far into the future. The Super Vector Award is awarded to the people who - through their hard work, creative thinking and intensive activity - contribute to the common good, can rise above the divisions, are open to the arguments of others and identify with the goals of the entire society.



The Super Vector Award 2013 received:


  • Janusz Lewandowski, EU Commissioner for Budget and Financial Programming


For persistent and consistent - despite many adversities – building the Polish free market economy. For the realization of the European Union vision in accordance with the aspirations and expectations of Polish entrepreneurs.


After the Vector Awards had been given, there was an auction of items donated by prominent personalities from the world of sports, politics, culture and business. The income from the auction will be donated to the construction of the Kazimierz Górski monument, organized by the Kazimierz Górski Foundation.


The Vector Awards have been awarded since 2002. Ever since then this award has gained prestige and recognition not only in the environment of Polish entrepreneurs, but also politicians, academics and in the world of the arts and media.


The Vector Award is a statuette by Michael Kubiak, symbolizing a man striding proudly with his head up who is heedless of any obstacles or adversities.
