MPs are currently working on the amendment of the Act on Competition and Consumer Protection. Employers of Poland believe the project in its current form will make the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection become another law enforcement agency set to penalize entrepreneurs.
It is also clear that the amendment of the Act in its present form is not acceptable - due to, inter alia:
- Lack of clear indication who may be held liable for breach of the competition rules
- Extending the period after which such acts fall under the statute of limitations to five years
- Leaving the option to inform consumers about the activities of an entrepreneur open.
