– Results recorded have been slightly below expectations for two months in a row. It does not yet herald the end of economic recovery, although it will undoubtedly adversely affect GDP growth in the first quarter – Łukasz Kozlowski, an expert of the Employers of Poland evaluates the latest CSO data.
Industrial production in March rose by 5.4 percent year to year - according to the CSO. This is worse than analysts expected. They predicted that it will reach the level of 6.4 percent. Polish industry accelerates very slowly.
You can see further improvement in the construction industry. In the past we observed short-term rebounds, whereas now there is finally a sustained improvement in the sector. On the other hand, we should keep in mind that the industry still needs a lot of time to regain its former strength.
Deflationary pressure on producer prices is still visible. For many businesses this can be a problem, especially bearing in mind the fact that - according to a survey conducted by the Employers of Poland under the Entrepreneur Confidence Index – in many industries entrepreneurs need to keep lowering the price of their products at a faster pace than the decreases in prices of materials used in the production process are taking place.
