- The new financial perspective will bring more resources for entrepreneurs - said Elżbieta Bieńkowska, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Development during the meeting of the Employers of Poland Council.
- Key words to raise funds from the EU in a new perspective are entrepreneurship, cooperation between science and business and urban development - particularly in terms of transport and regeneration - and energy efficiency - said Bieńkowska . She pointed out that the resources available for entrepreneurs amount to about 18 billion euro compared to 4 billion euro in the previous perspective. - This money will not be easy to get because the EU will apply to the so-called net correction. This means that if we make a mistake, the resources will be deducted from our pool. Until now, it was so that even if this happened the money was earmarked for another purpose - said Deputy Prime Minister Elżbieta Bieńkowska .
She also stressed the need to link science and business. The beneficiaries of the programme “Intelligent Development” will primarily be entrepreneurs. As a result, in the years 2020 – 2022 resources allocated to research and development in our country are expected to reach 2 percent of GDP (currently 0.9 percent of GDP). This increase is to be financed also from business activities.
- This is a level characteristic for developed countries. EU funds in the new perspective are a great opportunity to make our economy innovative and more developed - stressed the Minister.
At the same time she pointed out that the Marshals of voivodeships will be responsible for allocation of far more resources than at present.
President of the Employers of Poland Andrzej Malinowski noted that the Employers of Poland and academic circles are preparing a programme “Science for business, business for science”, which is to contain systemic recommendations on cooperation between universities and businesses .
Part of these activities will be the Polish Economic Congress in October this year and developing - with the broadest possible participation of academic and business circles - a package of proposals that will be submitted to the government.
During the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Elżbieta Bieńkowska members of the Employers of Poland also discussed issues that inhibit the development of their industries and businesses , and those that give a chance for faster growth.
