In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

The VECTOR Awards 2011 Presented

On Saturday, January 14th, at the National Stadium in Warsaw, was held a ceremonial gala of the presentation of the Employers of Poland prestigious awards - The Vector 2011 Awards. Outstanding figures were honoured with that distinction - businessmen, politicians, journalists and the institutions whose activities may be a role model for others.

 

The Vector Awards are presented for such activity that generates specific benefits for Polish economy, and for creating a favorable climate for business development. The ceremony was attended by over four hundred people.

 

The laureates of the 10th Ceremony of the Vector Award Presentation were (in order of the awards presentation) as follows:

 

  • Autostrada Wielkopolska SA (Wielkopolska Motorway Plc)

 

The award was presented for a real approximation of Poland to its western neighbours, and for proving consistently to the world that Polish entrepreneurs, even in difficult times, know how to be successful.

 

On behalf of the company, the statuette was collected by Dr Jan Kulczyk, the Chairman of the Board.
 

  • Gdańsk Transport Company Plc

 

The award was presented for – impossible for 20 years – a realization of millions of Poles’ dreams who have always wanted to drive along a number of Polish motorways. It was also awarded for showing the officials and politicians that it is the whole state that benefits from a Public-Private Partnership.

 

On behalf of the company, the statuette was collected by Anna Tomczak, the Vice President of GTC SA, and Jerzy Gajewski, the CEO of the NDI Company Plc.
 

  • The National Depository for Securities

 

The award was presented for a twenty-year perfect handling and supervision of depository-settlement system of securities trading. It was also awarded for the development strategy that is sensible and corresponds to the challenges of our times.

 

On behalf of the company, the statuette was collected by Iwona Sroka, the CEO.
 

  • Elżbieta Bieńkowska, Minister for Regional Development

 

The award was presented for a professionalism of a civil servant enhanced by a unique charm. It was also awarded for the heart and effectiveness in building the economic prosperity of Polish Small Homelands and the entire state.

 

The statuette will be presented to the Laureate at the earliest possible time.
 

  • Grzegorz Hajdarowicz, the Chairman of the Presspublica Supervisory Board

 

The award was presented for passion and consistency in developing - based on modern technology – an independent media market in Poland. It was also awarded for the mass transfer of readers to virtual reality and for business efficiency and civic responsibility.

 

The laureate collected the statuette himself.
 

  • Zbigniew Jagiełło, the CEO of PKO BP

 

The award was presented for a spectacular success of PKO BP in times of financial crisis and fierce competition. It was also awarded for a vision of the bank development and for an effective strengthening the position of the leader on the market of Central and Eastern Europe.

 

The laureate collected the statuette himself.
 

  • Robert Kusiak, the President of ID Marketing Plc

 

The award was presented for an international expansion and a spectacular entrance to the postal market of our southern neighbours - the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It was also awarded for consistency in developing a modern and competitive company.

  • Dariusz Lubera, the CEO of TAURON Poland Energia Plc

 

The award was presented for making the Poles a gift of”good energy” and for a skilful customizing the interests of the company managed by him to the fate of millions of Polish families. It was also awarded for a responsible business development strategy of Tauron SA.

  • Capt. Tadeusz Wrona

 

The award was presented for proving that ”the Polish hero” does not have to be a martyr, and what can be a guarantee of success - even in extreme situations - is a mastery, perfect use of knowledge and fidelity to procedures.

  • CD RED Project

 

The award was presented for extraordinary ability, in Polish conditions, of commercialization of human dreams, fairy tales and fantasy world. It was also awarded for a real impact on shaping the development of imagination and intelligence of hundreds of millions of people around the world.

 

On behalf of the company, the statuette was collected by Adam Badowski, the Member of the Board and the CEO of the CD Project RED Studio.
 

The CD Project RED has been honoured twice this year. The second statue was awarded by the readers of Pulse of Business who, in the competition for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2011, indicated the co-founder of the company, Michał Kiciński. On his behalf, the Vector Award - received from the Deputy Editor in Chief of Pulse of Business, Grzegorz Nawacki - was collected by the Member of the Board and the co-founder of the CD Company, Marcin Iwiński.

 

The Entrepreneur of the Year was honoured for a spectacular success of the game "Wiedźmin", which was bought by over a million people around the world. He was also honoured for the development strategy, giving hope for the market success and for creation of a Polish brand on all continents.
 

This year, Employers of Poland also awarded a special honour – The VECTOR Award of the 20th Anniversary. It was awarded to:

 

  • Bogusław Kott, the CEO of Bank Millennium Plc

 

The special honour was presented for personal and creative contribution to the political transformation of Polish economy. It was also awarded for consistency in building a modern banking system in Poland, and for concern for customers and shareholders.

The Vector Awards have been presented since 2002. During this time, not only has the award gained its prestige and recognition among Polish entrepreneurs, but also among politicians, academics, people of art and in the world of media.

 

The Vector Award is a statue by Michał Kubiak and it symbolizes a man walking with his head raised who disregards obstacles and adversity.
