September brought a further worsening of employers’ moods. The increasingly pessimistic assessment of the business situation in general in the next six months is particularly notable.
The prolonged slowdown initiated in the second quarter and the still relatively unstable international situation have a negative impact on employers’ faith in a quick return of an economic revival. In spite of that, Polish companies do not intend to restrict employment – such are the tendencies shown by the Entrepreneurs’ Optimism Index, elaborated on the basis of surveys conducted among members of Employers’ of Poland.
In September 2014, the Entrepreneurs’ Optimism Index had a value of 102.0 points in terms of the assessment of current business situation, compared to 104.5 points in August. The prognosis for the next six months has also worsened, dropping from 115.8 points last month to 108.7 in September Both indexes are at their lowest since March 2014, when the survey was initiated.
