Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

Employers of Poland initiate public debate on the cooperation between business and science

Employers of Poland initiate public debate on the cooperation between business and science as a necessary factor in further economic growth and modernization of the country. The Polish Economic Congress “Science for business, business for science” is the first installment of this discussion.

The aim of the Polish Economic Congress 2014 is to serve as a forum for discussion on the relations between science, education and business. Apart from companies implementing innovative solutions, an appropriate communication mechanism making it possible for research potential to be used to its maximum is necessary.

In preparation for the Congress, Employers of Poland formulated preliminary theses initiating discussion. Some of them may appear controversial, but de facto they touch on the most fundamental issues – such as governance in universities and research institutes, financing of education and science, dual education or the application of research results in practice. A thorough reform of legal regulations pertaining to higher education giving the universities real freedom while at the same time establishing procedures for the external assessment of their functioning is needed.

The debate on these topics will not conclude with the closing of the Congress. The result will be compiled into recommendations and the discussion itself will continue. Employers of Poland hope that the ideas and solutions elaborated during the event are accepted by all interested parties and make it through legislative complexities.
