October 23rd saw the conclusion of the Polish Economic Congress Science for business, business for science, organized by Employers of Poland under the honorary patronage of President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski. The event was one of the most important occasions in the celebration of the Organization's twenty-fifth jubilee.
On the second day of the Congress, debates and panels from the day before were summarized. Participants were generally of the opinion that the event served its purposes well – representatives of business and science have presented their expectations towards each other. There was no shortage of heated discussions, but – as pointed out by prof. Piotr Kula, prorector for innovation at the Łódź University of Technology – business and science spoke a common language, which bodes well for future cooperation.
Jacek Brzozowski, advisor to the President of Employers of Poland, stressed that diagnosing problems is a good first step on the road towards a significant increase of the innovativeness of Polish economy.
