Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

Conference “Mining as a strategic industry – barriers and opportunities for development in a global economy”

We would like to invite you to a conference entitled “Mining as a strategic industry – barriers and opportunities for development in a global economy”, which will be held on November 19th 2014 at the Staszic Palace at Nowy Świat 72 in Warsaw, under the honorary patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of economy Janusz Piechociński. The event is organized by the “Polish Copper” Association of Employers and will be a part of the celebration of the 25th jubilee of Employers of Poland.

In a globalized economy, the main factors impacting on the competitiveness of domestic and international companies are economic conditions, legal environment, the implementation of practices conducive to sustainable development, access to resources and the fluidity of material deliveries. These issues are particularly important in the mining industry, where entities from Europe have to compete with companies from the Americas, Australia, Asia and Africa.

The aim of the conference is to exchange knowledge and experiences in terms of legal, economic, social and environmental issues related to the mining industry in Poland and creating a forum for elaborating appropriate legal solutions, beneficial both to the development of the state and the future of the mining industry. This is particularly significant in light of the guidelines for the plan of activities aimed at increasing Poland security in terms of non-energy materials, presented by the Ministry of Economy in June 2014, as well as Poland’s engagement in EU initiatives – a.o. within the European Innovation Partnership in the mining industry.

Topics to be addressed at the conference:

  • access to mineral resources and the energy security of the state,
  • mineral resources management strategy,
  • the conditions of conducting mining activities,
  • the opportunities for the development of Polish mining industry in a global economy,
  • corporate social responsibility,
  • health and safety in mining,
  • promoting innovation in mining – new tendencies and practical solutions.
