The Federation was established in 2011, at the initiative of prof. Jarosław J. Fedorowski, current chairman. Its basic mission and aim is to represent the interests of hospitals at the domestic and international market and support their managers in their efforts to provide healthcare services and ensure the best possible working conditions for hospital personnel. The organization currently associates 79 hospitals, with a total of 28 000 hospital beds, providing services worth a total of over 3.6 bln PLN and employs ca. 60 000 people.
The Federation is a member of the big gest hospital organization in the EU – The European Hospital Federation HOPE – and Employers of Poland. The Organization is the most representative employers’ organization in the hospital sector. In November 2014, the second largest hospital in Poland – the University Clinical Centre in Gdańsk – and the Biziela University Hospital in Bydgoszcz, the Voivodeship Hospital in Gorzów Wielkopolski, as well as county hospitals in Krasnystaw and Skarżysko-Kamienna, joined the Polish hospital Federation. Two specialist private hospitals – Nutrico in Sosnowiec and Okoklinik in Warsaw – also joined.
