Winter is coming, but on the labour market it seems like spring is in full bloom. On the occasion of Christmas, some employers will increase employment. According to GUS figures, the unemployment rate in October was 11.3 percent, compared to 11.5 in September. This marks the first October decrease in unemployment rate since 2008.
Last year, there was a decrease of 290 thousand in the number of people registered as unemployed. According to experts, the cause of this is the improving condition of the economy.
– The seasonal factor which could have a negative impact on the economy in autumn has been neutralized by good economic trends – says Łukasz Kozłowski, expert of Employers of Poland, in a material quoted by “Gazeta Wyborcza”.
