Legislation Monitoring Centre

The annual horror show presented by the National Health Fund (NFZ) is starting

– Entrepreneurs from the healthcare sector are drawing attention to the dramatic situation resulting from the chaotic actions of voivodeship divisions of the National Health Fund, regarding the annexation of contracts – writes Andrzej Mądrala, Vicepresident of Employers of Poland in an article for medycynaprywatna.pl.

The author points out that according to the amendment to the act on healthcare services funded from public resources passed on July 22nd 2014, the annexation of contracts for the coming year should take place before the end of this year.  This has calmed the services providers, who have contracts with the National Health Fund, but has also caused controversy among entities who have been waiting for years to get a contract with a public payer.

 – As shown by a survey conducted by Employers of Poland among entrepreneurs form the healthcare sector, NFZ had waited until the last moment to present financial conditions to hospitals, and when it had finally done so, service providers got only 24 hours to agree and sign annexes. This had clearly placed them with their back against the wall and made it impossible to negotiate – comments the Vicepresident of Employers of Poland.
