Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

Real wages dynamics set further records

As shown by recent GUS figures, in January average wages in entrepreneurship rose by 3.6 percent compared to the same period the year before. – Although the average wage growth rate is increasing at a slightly slower pace than last month, there are no reasons for disappointment. One should keep in mind that in during the same period deflation deepened. All in all the real year-to-year wages dynamics is approaching 5 percent. This is the best result in precisely six years – comments Łukasz Kozłowski, expert of Employers of Poland.

The slight month-to-month decrease in wages also should not be a cause of much concern, as this is a normal phenomenon occurring every year. January salaries are always higher than they were in December by ca, 10 percent, because many companies pay various premiums and bonuses after the end of the year.

However, the employment figures in enterprises is hard as the sample used by GUS changes every year. It is hard to estimate the extent to which the improvement of this index results from aforementioned changes. Most recent estimations made by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy regarding the registered unemployment rate do not have a similarly optimistic tone. Only in a few weeks will it be possible to assess which of these indexes was a better prognostic of the situation on the labour market.
