Legislation Monitoring Centre
In Poland there is neither an internet portal nor an institution for employers responsible for monitoring the legislation process of regulations that determine the rules for business activity. At present employers  learn about changes in the law mainly from mass media or simply through the grapevine, usually with delay.

Small companies optimistically look to the future

According to Polish companies, the economic upturn is gathering momentum yet again. The index related to prognoses for business situation in the coming six months is rising at a particularly fast rate – such are the showing of the Entrepreneurs’ Optimism Index, based on surveys conducted among members of Employers of Poland.

In March, the Index had a value of 104.6 points in terms of the assessment of current business situation, compared to 103.8 in February. Prognoses for the next six months also improved – from 112.4 points the month before to 121.1 points in March.

The current situation subindex is growing for the fourth month running and has assumed positive values (over 100 points) since last December. Thus, the rate of improvement of the business situation has reached its highest value since July 2014. The improvement of this index is caused mainly by the decreased rate of companies who reported a worsening of their current condition to 17 percent. However,  no significant increase in the rate of optimists among respondents was recorded.

On the other hand, the general assessment of the business situation in the next six months improved markedly – by 8.7 percent, which is the highest growth rate in the Index’s history of over a year. Over 39 percent of respondents expect the situation in their market in half a year to be better than it is now, while only 9 percent expect it to worsen.
